Direct Torque and Flux Control
DTFC.
Control built around
torque and flux.
Theta’s proprietary motor-control technology is designed for sensorless operation and application flexibility. We evaluate control performance across the motor’s operating range and integrate it with the needs of the complete product.
Application development can include control observers, startup behavior, low- and high-speed operation, and vibration-reduction strategies.
Discuss DTFC for your applicationStart with the requirements
- Motor & load
- Electrical characteristics, torque profile, and load dynamics.
- Operating envelope
- Startup, speed range, transients, and protection requirements.
- System integration
- MCU resources, sensing, inverter topology, and product interfaces.
- Validation
- Simulation plus measurements on the target motor and hardware.
Sensorless vibration reduction
Address vibration
at the control level.
Theta develops software-based vibration reduction using its DTFC control architecture. The approach connects motor behavior, load dynamics, and control algorithms to target vibration and audible noise at their source.
Supported configurations can operate without additional vibration sensors. We assess the motor, load, mechanical system, operating range, and measurement method before defining targets.
Discuss a vibration challenge ↗Evaluate in the complete application
- Establish a measured baseline on the target product.
- Evaluate control strategies across relevant operating conditions.
- Check vibration, acoustics, efficiency, and stability together.
- Validate the result on the intended hardware and load.
Results depend on the product and operating conditions. A project evaluation establishes the achievable improvement.

Theta Simulation Framework
Design. Simulate.
Interact. Optimize.
Then build.
TSF is a proprietary Theta platform that evaluates firmware together with configurable motor and inverter models. It supports development before final hardware is available and helps explore operating limits and protection behavior.
Engineers can change motor parameters, inverter models, or power inputs and inspect current, voltage, torque, and other application metrics.
