Engineering approach

From architecture to application.

01 / ENGINEERING APPROACH

Device communication and telemetry

The reference architecture connects an ESP32 device to AWS IoT Core through MQTT. It shows cloud processing with AWS Lambda and a path to telemetry storage and visualization using Amazon Timestream and Amazon Managed Grafana.

02 / ENGINEERING APPROACH

Firmware-update workflow

The supplied material describes an OTA workflow involving Amazon S3, device jobs, and signed firmware packages. This is a development reference; the delivery process and verification requirements must be established for each product.

03 / ENGINEERING APPROACH

Customer application and project scope

The reference includes a customer app or website layer explicitly marked as not yet implemented. That layer, cloud configuration, device provisioning, and ongoing operation are part of the scope to evaluate with the OEM.

04 / ENGINEERING APPROACH

Connect data to product operations

Theta’s earlier Theta Full Connection (TFC) campaign links embedded communication, cloud analytics, and maintenance use cases. Define the data, interfaces, and operational decisions needed by the product. Monitoring and predictive functions require application-specific evidence and validation.

02 / CONNECTION

MQTT communication

Device messages and cloud connectivity through AWS IoT Core in the reference architecture.

03 / CLOUD

Processing and telemetry

Cloud processing, data storage, and visualization defined around the product requirements.

04 / INTEGRATION

Product operations

Firmware-update workflows and customer application interfaces within the agreed project scope.

Simplified overview based on the supplied AWS architecture. The source marks a customer app or website layer as not yet implemented. This reference does not establish production readiness, service availability, or AWS partner status.

Human–Machine Interfaces

Engineering the interaction.

Connect custom graphics, embedded firmware, electronics, and communication so the interface becomes part of the equipment architecture.
