The name Theta
The Greek letter theta inspired the name. The brand’s original narrative connects it to motor angle and thermal behavior in power electronics, alongside a reference to eta and motor efficiency.
Theta Power Systems International is an American technology company with its engineering center in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Our model brings together U.S. customer connection and engineering experience rooted in Brazil’s industrial ecosystem.
We work alongside OEM teams on motor control, power electronics, embedded systems, simulation, and custom hardware and software. The development program is shaped around the application and the requirements of the product.

The name and symbol connect Theta’s identity to the engineering disciplines behind our work.
The Greek letter theta inspired the name. The brand’s original narrative connects it to motor angle and thermal behavior in power electronics, alongside a reference to eta and motor efficiency.
The mark is an artistic rendering of theta that also evokes the circuit symbol of an electric motor. Its white details represent current flow in the stator and create an impression of movement.
The green frame and blue rotor acknowledge the team’s roots in Brazil. In the original brand story, this combination refers to those roots rather than representing the Brazilian flag.
The red Theta lettering refers to the thermal challenges of power conversion electronics.
The blue Power Systems lettering evokes a cool color and reinforces the efficiency theme.
The green ring, together with the blue rotor, connects the identity to the team’s Brazilian roots.
“For me, global engineering means bringing people and capabilities together around a shared objective: solving difficult engineering problems and turning ideas into better products. I am proud of the team we have built to make that possible.”
Raimundo Rengel · President
Theta’s published history traces the team’s work in Brazil to 2015 and its international operation to 2018.
